Diane Sue Dostal

Diane Dostal loved music! She loved other things, of course, like traveling to lakes and oceans, swimming and relaxing on beautiful beaches while spending time with family and friends and devoting herself to loving and caring for her sons. But most of all, she loved music just like her mother and grandmother did. Whenever she heard a song, her body naturally started to move to the beat. Singing brought her joy. She was so good that for a time, she had her own show every Friday night at a local Holiday Inn.Diane died peacefully Monday, November 14 at Vitality Life Village from complications from dementia, she was 81. She was born in Herrin, Illinois on February 28, 1941, to Lester and Dorothy Turner. She was the middle child with an older brother and younger sister. She graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. She married Charles Dostal in 1960. They had two songs, Randy Thomas Dostal and James Edward Dostal. They resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for 25 years. She then moved to Peoria, Illinois, where she lived for 35 years until moving to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to be close to her sister, Trish. They experienced lots of "sister time" for her last 4 years of life. For a career, she valued motherhood the most. She loved and supported her boys during all the sports they played, especially basketball and football. Her eyes lit up when someone would ask about her boys. Also, she was a paraprofessional for an elementary principal, where she would give hugs and smiles to every child! She even enjoyed working with them in the cafeteria! Survivors include her sons, Randy Dostal and Jim Dostal; daughter-in-law, Amber Dostal; sister, Trish Kroencke; niece, Lisa Evers and husband, Keegan Evers and nieces, Allison and Hailey Evers.Donation made be made in her name to Mental Health Association Oklahoma or American Cancer Society.
