Dolores Yvonne Hale passed away on July 27, 2023 at her home with her loving son Hugh by her side. She was born on November 13, 1929 in Seminole, Oklahoma to James and Willie Mae Blecker. She spent her formative years in Seminole before moving to Oklahoma City with her mother and step-dad, Walter Troutman. Dolores graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1947 where she lettered in "speed ball." Upon graduation She worked as a secretary and accountant in the oil patch for O.L. Oliver. She was married for several years to Lynn Johnson. In 1957 Dolores' interest in photography led her to meet the owner of Hale Photo Supply, George T. Hale. They married in early 1958. In 1959 they gave birth to Dolores's only child Hugh Hale. She was a loving wife and mother and worked alongside George at the photo supply bookkeeping and in their commercial photography business coordinating photo shoots. She also volunteered at The Daily Oklahoman State Fair Exhibit information booth for almost 40 years. Dolores loved a party and loved to have fun! Golfing, bowling, fishing, archery, and the beach could always be found somewhere on her well-organized calendar! She could be very lady like, but rarely passed up a challenge to try something new (lady like or not.) Dolores was a member of many clubs and organizations including "The Desk and Dereck Club," "Northwest Optimist Women," "Ladies of The Moose," and several others. After her husbands' passing in 1983 she continued to run the photo supply and commercial photography business until the mid2000's. Macular degeneration, Alzheimer's and Dementia began taking their ugly toll on Dolores in 2010. She passed peacefully and painlessly with her loving son Hugh by her side. A Memorial Service will be held at Smith and Kernke funeral home, 14624 N May Ave, OKC, 2:30 Friday, August 18th.
