Don Edgar Shockey

Don Shockey was born to Harry Edgar and Charlotte Virginia (Kelsey) Shockey in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on November 21, 1942. He attended elementary and middle school in Tulsa and then graduated from high school in Miami, Oklahoma. He continued his education and earned a degree in Journalism. Don proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the Army for 4 years. Don worked for various newspapers as a reporter before retiring from the Oklahoman. Don truly enjoyed fishing with his father and brother, traveling to New Mexico, and volunteering with the Archaeological Society, where he participated in many "digs". He is preceded in death by his parents, along with his paternal and maternal grandparents. Don is survived by his brother, Robert and his wife Rhonda Shockey of Tulsa, Oklahoma. A graveside service to celebrate Don's life will be on Monday, January 22 at 2:00pm at Bixby Cemetery in Bixby, Oklahoma.
