Don was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Ted and Marjorie Gross. He was a graduate of Guthrie High School where he was an all-state basketball player. He went on to graduate from Central State University. Don worked as a Landman in the oil and gas industry. He retired from Continental Land Resources in 2015.
He was a longtime member of New Hope United Methodist Church and recently became a member of Quail Springs United Methodist Church where he volunteered with the children's mentor program.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Joe, Ed and Jimmy. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Claudia (Edwards) Gross; his children, Tara White, Taylor Gross and wife Jamie and Amy McAdams and husband Jared; his beloved grandchildren who called him "Potter", Cory, Ava, Graham and Emma. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Don will be remembered for his generosity and magnetic, enormous personality. He was loved by all who knew him and made lasting friendships so easily. Those wishing to honor Don may do so by contributing to Quail Springs United Methodist Church or favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
