He graduated from Covington Catholic High School in 1948 and attended the University of Cincinnati before spending four years in the U.S. Navy where he served proudly. He later moved to Oklahoma City where he enjoyed a long and successful career, retiring from Automatic Engineering in 1996. Don's greatest find in Oklahoma was meeting his wife Dorothy Trumbly, the absolute love of his life. They raised three children together, Jim, Julie and Jana, in a home he guided by his strong sense of integrity and principles and unconditional love. Don was a member of the first class of the Citizen's Police Academy in OKC where he served as President of his class. He was also a member of the OK Retired Citizen's Travel Club where he served as Vice-President. Don enjoyed traveling, knife collecting and his coffee groups, but family remained his greatest source of happiness and pride. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Duhme, daughter, Julie Naifeh and husband, Rick; daughter, Jana Finigan, and husband Bob; grandchildren, Ben and Nick Callaway, Corie Naifeh, Chad and Chandler Phillips, Jimmy Duhme; and sisters-in-law Mary Clare Duhme, Betty Duhme and Barbara Trumbly. He set a wonderful example for his children and grandchildren and the lessons he taught will be passed on for generations. There has never been a finer man. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 7, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, with interment following in Resurrection Cemetery.
