Don passed away peacefully surrounded by friends in the same Edgemere Park home in Oklahoma City that his parents built in 1927. Don attended Edgemere Elementary, Harding Middle School, and graduated from Central High School in 1945. After high school Don attended the University of Oklahoma, where he was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity, and graduated with a business degree in 1950. Don served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. Don's career was in the insurance industry and following his retirement, he was highly successful in real estate investments in Oklahoma City. Don had a passion for golf and racquetball and played both with zeal well into his later years. Don is preceded in death by his beloved parents George and Thelma Copelin and his sister, Betty Jane Worley. Don is survived by his loving niece Becky Honey and her husband Richard of Cheney, Washington. Don was known and loved by many in Oklahoma City. He was a great neighbor, always willing to help out the citizens in Edgemere Park with a home repair or remodel chore. Don held a special place in his heart for the racquetball gents at the north side YMCA and for his long-time friends Bill Baker, Bill Cardwell, Sue Baker, Dan McNeill, Karen Gregory, and Dr. Steve Crawford. A special thanks goes to Amber, Kelly, Deb, Mark, Hope, Ashtyn, Isabella, Cindy, and Ashley who made it possible for Don to pass peacefully from this world in his home.
