Donna Scott Brown was born on January the 28th 1926 in Oilton Oklahoma to A. Dean and Mattie Scott She graduated from Vidaway High School and attended the University of Arkansas. After college she moved to Oklahoma City where she made her home. Donna was a loving mother, loyal friend and successful entrepreneur. She studied antiques extensively; becoming an expert and collector in early American furniture, then transforming her passion into a business with Donna Brown Antiques in Nichols Hills Plaza. Donna loved traveling, especially when on buying trips to the Northeast, Paris and London. Donna later ran the accounting department for Brown Brokerage Company and made a tremendous contribution to the success of the company.
Donna loved entertaining, was an accomplished tennis player, avid golfer and a voracious reader. One of her favorite pastimes, were her numerous trips to southwestern Missouri to her beloved family farm.
She was a dedicated member of First Presbyterian Church and served in a number of areas within the Church.
Most of all she was a devoted and loving mother to her son Scott She will be greatly missed by her family and her close friends. The family would especially like to thank Angela Cooks, Entrust and Home Instead for their wonderful care. Donna was preceded in death by her father A. Dean Scott and her mother Mattie Scott. She is survived by her son Scott Brown and his wife Jana, stepson Ross Brown, grandsons, Jake, Nick and Alan.
Friends who wish to pay their respects may visit the funeral home, Wednesday, June 18th until 5:00 pm. Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church Chapel, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014. Interment will be at the Davenport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in her name.
