Donna Marie Cole

Donna Marie Cole was born on May 5, 1947 in Oklahoma City to her parents John Milton and Emma Kathryn McCullough. She passed away at the age of 77 on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 after a lengthy and courageous battle with several health issues. Although tiny in stature, she was feisty and had enormous strength and resilience. She was a graduate of Harding High School and the University of Oklahoma. She was a proud member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and Junior League of Oklahoma City. Donna was married to her husband, David H. Cole for 55 years. “Marie” as her family affectionately called her, was a life-long OU Sooners fan, and enjoyed watching all sporting events. She loved spending time with family and her festive spirit made everything feel brighter and more joyful especially Christmas and holidays. Donna adored her toy poodles Lily and Phoebe. Donna was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

She was predeceased by her parents and her eldest sister, Marlys Lu Peck.

She is survived by her husband, David H. Cole, two children, Hilary Lynne Cole and Carter McCullough Cole of Oklahoma City and sister Anita McCullough White of Arizona. Donna cherished and loved her dear friends she thought of as family, Elona Zeka and Lonetta Franklin. The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice for their wonderful care over the last year, especially Caress Fuller and Emily Bruhn.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the charity of your choice, or Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.
