Doris "Chris" Christene Boyd

Chris Boyd passed away June 1, 2017. She was born July 12, 1929 in Hobart, Oklahoma to William and Sarah (Waters) Allred. Chris was a dedicated homemaker; a wife, mother and cherished "Grandma Chris". She was a master gardener, a member of the Oklahoma City Chrysanthemum Society known for her front yard that looked like a park. She also maintained a large vegetable garden. Her cheesecake squares were a favorite of family, friends and neighbors who enjoyed her great cooking. She was a den mother for her sons, Scott and Roger as well as several other young boys in pack 117. Chris will be remembered for her loving spirit, her love of her church being a long time member of Putman City Baptist; her love of animals and especially her nurturing love for her family. Chris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack in 1989 and is survived by her two sons, Scott Boyd and his wife, Mary and Roger Boyd and his wife Sabine; her grandchildren, Jackson and Annika as well as two sisters and a host of extended family and friends. Services to celebrate Chris will be held 10:00 am Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel with a reception to follow. Chris will be laid to rest next to Jack at Rose Cemetery in Hobart at a small graveside service at 3:30 pm.
