Dorothy Maude Timberlake Moncrief (Dodee), at the age of 94, went home peacefully, to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack Bowen Moncrief of 70 years, sister Dr. Maxine Tobin, brother Dr. Craig Timberlake, son-in-law Ronnie Boyd, and niece Ann Glynn.
She is survived by daughters, Jackie Jones and husband J. Michael, Deborah Wood and husband Jim, Cary Dubie and husband Ted, and Roslyn Boyd; seven grandchildren Christopher Jones and wife Shalla, Patrick Jones, Paul Dubie, Natalie Noppert and husband Justin, April Davis and husband Spencer, Neeli Boyd and fiancé Trent Pope, and Hannah Boyd; seven great-grandchildren, Benjamin Jones, Charley, Elijah, and Jude Noppert, Lyle and Jack Davis, and Aaliyah Boyd.
She was born in Ambridge, Pennsylvania February 1, 1923 to Alberta Savage and James Craig Timberlake.
At a young age Dodee and her family moved to Elmira, New York. During Dodee's high school years the family moved to Dallas, Texas, where she graduated from Highland Park High School.
She then attended Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. At SMU she met the love of her life, Jack Moncrief. Dodee graduated with honors with a B.S. degree in Institutional Management from Texas Women's University.
She was a successful businesswoman with several careers. During her career as a banker with Liberty National Bank she held positions in the Commercial Loan Division; Collateral, Savings, Safety Deposit and Credit Departments. At an early time of technology, one of her roles in the Credit department included being in charge of the computerized part of the Controlled Accounts Program. As a major part of her banking career, she was a member of the Oklahoma City Chapter of the American Institute of Banking. She held multiple offices, including creator and editor of the monthly newsletter, The Eagle Speaks. She was also honored to be named the Woman Banker of the Year.
Dodee continued her business career earning her Real Estate Broker License and was a sales associate with Coldwell Banker, Mike Jones Company. As a multimillion dollar producer she won numerous marketing and sales awards.
Dodee was also a member of many organizations including: the Oklahoma City Girl Scouts of America as a troop leader for many years, a lifetime member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Civic Music Association. Recently Dodee was presented with the Delta Delta Delta Golden Circle pin for 75 years of membership. While her daughters were young, the family was active members of Crown Heights Christian Church. Later in life Dodee, and husband Jack, were founding members and elders of New Covenant Christian Church, where she was trained as a Stephen Minister.
Dodee was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was an exemplary role model to her family and friends. Her inner light always demonstrated honesty, integrity and Christly love to all she encountered. She was a true patriot with a great faith in GOD, who loved her church, community and most importantly her family.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 22nd at New Covenant Christian Church, 12000 N. Rockwell, OKC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to New Covenant Christian Church or to the charity of your choice.
