Dorothy died peacefully at her Oklahoma City residence on April 9, 2014. Her last wish fulfilled. She was born in Coffeyville, Kansas. Her family relocated to Oklahoma City in her first year of life. As a young woman she was a pianist, music teacher, a graduate of Old Classen High School and she earned a BFA in Music with a minor in Journalism at Oklahoma City University. She won several piano competitions including at the State level; she was the OCU Football Homecoming Queen her senior year. She was the first President of the Oklahoma City Junior MacDowell Club. She sponsored the Club for many years. She authored an Arts newspaper column; played the organ for WKY radio while working at the Oklahoman newspaper; and she worked for John A Browns Company and modeled for fashion shows. She married William Miles Hamilton II and assisted him as one of his realtors. They raised a family together. Active in many clubs and served in various officer positions in all: Pianist Club; Sr. MacDowell Club of OKC; Catholic Women's Activity Club. She was a Girl Scout leader. She played the organ for both Our Lady's Cathedral and Christ the King Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents G. Frank Wilkinson and Ruby Grogan Wilkinson; her husband Bill Hamilton; her brother Robert F. Wilkinson and her sister Marie Nash. She is survived by her daughters: Jude Ann Hamilton of the home, Patricia Marie Rowton and her son-in-law Jack Rowton Jr., Edmond, OK, and her brother and sister-in-law: Kenneth Nash and Ruth Wilkinson and her four nieces and six nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated to honor her at Christ the King Church at 10 am on Tuesday April 15, 2014.
