Dorris Oletha Burk was born October 21, 1927 to John A. and Dorothy McFarland Burk. She died November 10, 2015. She attended the Putnam City schools, Blackwood-Davis Business College as well as Oklahoma City University. Dorris retired from Southwestern Bell as Manager, Ad Valorem Tax with 44 years of service. She was a long-time member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church where she was active in the Chancel Choir, Administrative Board and Triquetra Sunday School Class. She enjoyed traveling and took many trips with the ORCTC Travel Club. She enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles also. Dorris was a docent at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum and a member of the MacDowell Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and Darcy Bruce. She is survived by nephew, Lloyd Dana Bruce and his wife, Pat of Cypress, TX; her great-nephew, Tom Bruce and wife Krystal; great niece, Christy Garcia and husband Jose' and four great-great nieces. Contributions may be sent to the Music Ministry at St. Luke's. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
