Dr. Gary Ray Rahill

Taken too soon, Gary Ray Rahill went to be with his Lord on Tuesday March 20, 2018. He was born on February 4, 1953 to Otto and Madeline Rahill. Gary had a unique zest for life and spread joy to everyone around him. He was a man of God, a devoted son, a loving husband, a treasured father, and an adored grandfather. Gary was a very active member of St. Elijah Orthodox Christian Church and an active member of Sha Babb Club. One of his favorite times of the year was preparing for the St. Elijah Food Festival, where he cooked tirelessly in the kitchen months in advance getting ready to serve the community with lots of pride and his infectious smile. He attended Northwest Classen High School where he was involved in ROTC and was selected to the All City Basketball Team. He excelled at all sports and loved his Sooners and Thunder. He attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from the OU College of Dentistry in 1980, finishing number one in his class. Gary met Patrice Saied in 1975 and knew he had met his match and the love of his life. They married in 1978 and had three children, Jase, Trae and Ali who he couldn't be more proud of. He had a unique and special relationship with each one and they loved laughing with him and giving their dad a hard time. After practicing dentistry for several years, Gary partnered with his cousin and dear lifelong friend, David Simon, and they have been in practice together for 26 years. Gary loved taking care of his patients and was known for his skill, gentleness and calm demeanor. God blessed Gary with two beautiful granddaughters, Remi who loved hanging out with her "Gid" more than anything in the world, and Emmarie, whose recent arrival was the joy of his heart. And he was looking so forward to welcoming his grandson in July. Gary will be remembered for loving his huge family and for bringing his family and friends together as often as possible. He is loved by so many and will be missed forever. Gary is preceded in death by his father, Otto Rahill and is survived by his mother, Madeline Rahill; wife, Patrice; his three children, Jase and wife Tassidy, Trae and wife Katie, and his pride and joy, Ali. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Randy Rahill and wife Kathy and sister, Lori Cohlmia and husband Dr. Jeff Cohlmia. Also, by grandchildren Remi and Emmarie and many nieces and nephews who love him beyond words. There will be no viewing at the church; however, viewing will be at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home from noon - 6 pm on Friday, with the family receiving friends from 4 - 6 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday March 24 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Flowers That Do Not Wither Fund at St. Elijah Orthodox Church, 15000 N. May Ave., or The American Heart Association.
