Marvin Kenneth Margo, M.D. was born November 3, 1923 to Dr. and Mrs. Elias Margo in Enid, OK. He attended school in Oklahoma City at Cleveland and Taft and graduated high school from Sewanee Military Academy, Sewanee, Tennessee in 1941, and afterward went to the University of Oklahoma for undergraduate school and medical school. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and graduated from OU School of Medicine in 1948. Bobbie Cravens Margo and he were married in 1944 and she predeceased him in 2016. Marvin proudly served in the Army during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean War. He practiced orthopedic surgery at the McBride Clinic/Bone & Joint Hospital in Oklahoma City from 1951 until his retirement in 1986. Serving his profession, he was president of the Oklahoma County Medical Society and the Oklahoma State Medical Association. Following his retirement, Marvin and Bobbie enjoyed traveling, whether for pleasure or for an OU sporting event. He passionately followed the Sooners and missed very few games. His parents and siblings predeceased him. Those who survive will surely miss him but the memories will remain. Those survivors include: sons, Robert C. Margo (Marty) and K. Craig Margo (Lu Ann); grandchildren, Amy M. Hall (Michael) and Bradley J. Margo, M.D. (Debbie); and great grandsons, Jake, Will and Sam Margo. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and other extended family. Visitation will be at Smith & Kernke 11am to 4pm on Saturday, February 17th. Services will be at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church on the 19th day of February, 2018 at 11am.
