Dr. Timothy A. Walker

Dr. Timothy A Walker passed peacefully on January 29, 2020. Born June 16, 1945 to Art and Sylvia Walker in Jamaica, Queens, New York, he spent most of his formative years in Oklahoma City, attending John Carroll, Bishop McGuinness and eventually graduating from OU Med School. His medical residencies took him to California, New York and beyond, but he ultimately returned to his hometown of Oklahoma City, establishing what would become a successful private practice as a plastic surgeon in the early 1980s. Having dedicated the first part of his professional life to his patients, he retired in the early 2000s and turned to his other lifelong loves, art and painting. He spent a great deal of time in New York, Philadelphia and Paris in order to hone his craft and to paint alongside some of the modern-day masters. Aside from art and medicine Dr. Walker had a variety of other interests, including mountain climbing, learning languages, playing piano, sailing and traveling the world. His personality was reflected in his multifaceted interests. He was at once a challenging, driven, difficult and talented person. In the immortal words of Winston Churchill, "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." We wish him Godspeed. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Iris Memory Care in Edmond and Sooner Hospice.He is survived by his adult children, Jessica Walker and Benjamin Walker and six siblings, Arthur Lee Walker III, Jimmy Walker, Cynthia Claro, Christopher Walker, Mary Ge Crozier and Kim Kolda and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home at a date to be determined.
