Earl Leesekamp

Earl Leesekamp passed away on Wed., April 18, 2012 at the age of 81. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather he faced death the way he had faced everything else in his life; with pride and strength. He was known was a decorated Marine war veteran. He received the prestigious Purple Heart while fighting in the Korean War. He was a self made man and one of the hardest workers you could be around, having been very successful in the heavy equipment business. Completely devoted to his family, Papa was always there to fix anything that you needed fixed from a small engine to a house issue, there wasn't anything he couldn't figure out. Tough, disciplined, but with a heart of gold he will be greatly missed. Earl was preceded in death by his mother, father and four siblings. He is survived by his wife Genevieve Leesekamp, four children; Alice Leep, Peggy Penland and her husband Gil Penland, Roger Leesekamp and his wife Kim Leesekamp, and Annette Self and her husband Kelly Self. Papa was also loved and adored by several grand kids and great grand kids, as well as several nieces and nephews. The world lost another great soldier on Wednesday, but not without a fight. Semper Fi. Services for Earl will be held at 10am on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Smith & Kernke Chapel. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Oklahoma Heart Institute and Pets for People.
