Earl Wayne Deese

On October 31st 1936, In Fitzgerald GA, JD and Lolli Deese where rear ended in an automobile accident. Lolli was about 6 months pregnant with her 4th child, the first three were boys, and this was another boy only she didn't know it. The accident sent her into labor and she was rushed home while the Doctor was summoned. When he arrived, she was already in full labor with a premature baby on the way and no way to stop the delivery. Remember this was 1936. So, into the world this baby boy came weighing in at just barely a pound. The doctor took the baby boy and set him on a dresser across the room from Lolli so she wouldn't see how tiny he was. He walked back over to her and said Ms. Deese I am sorry but your baby boy is not going to make it, he is just too small, remember this is 1936. Lolli, who was a God-fearing woman who loved the Lord and said with a stern voice you bring me my baby and let me tend to him. And so, she did. She prayed at that moment for God to bless this child and help her to take care of him. In the days ahead she fed him with an eye dropper and she let him sleep on her stomach until he was able to sleep in a shoe box in a drawer in the dresser. She kept him warm with a hot water bottle and dressed him in doll clothes. The truth is, this baby should have never lived, the odds where against him in every way. The fact is, even today when a baby is this premature, they rarely survive and if they do, they have tremendous problems. But this baby boy defied the odds and Earl Wayne Deese grew up strong and healthy. As a matter of fact, he was the healthiest of all five bothers, out living them all by many years. It was at 81 years old that Earl had his first overnight stay in a hospital. Over the years Earl grew strong and the family moved to Waycross GA so JD could work for the railroad repair yards. Earl Graduated high school there and went to work as a Telegraph operator for the rail road. This didn't last long because Earl was destined for bigger things. He moved to Kansas City in the mid fifties and worked with his brothers in several businesses. All the while longing to start his own business. He wasn't really sure what it would be but he knew some day he would be a business owner. Earl worked hard at many jobs, he worked at Bendix building parts for bombs, after that he was a produce manager for a Safeway grocery store, he then went to work for his Brothers, who owned Bishop Furniture, as Manager of the upholstery dept. When the Brothers sold that Business, all five brothers bought a cemetery in Columbus Ohio. Unfortunately, that did not work out, but Earl was not deterred, he kept on Dreaming of a day when he would own his own business. He then went on to drive a truck for the American Can Co. in Kansas City MO for several years, and all the while he did upholstery work at night in his garage to help provide a good life for his family. His ties in the furniture industry led him to his last job in Kansas City, Am Foam Rubber Products where he learned about the foam rubber business and became Vice President. It was this knowledge that would eventually lead him to reach his dream of being a business owner by starting Allied Foam with his Son Kenneth. He was the President and CFO for 28 years until he left this world. Earl was Blessed with two boys and after raising his two boys Anthony and Kenny, they both married. Anthony married Joyce Shuey and Kenny married Laurie Dixon who brought to Earl his beloved grandchildren, Bethany Tyler, Maegan Case, Brittany Deese, and Kaelan Deese. And the grandchildren brought to him his beloved great grandchildren, Grayson Tyler, Jude Tyler, Jet Tyler, and Lacey Case. Earl married Barbara, his loving and devoted wife, later in life and the two of them have had a very special relationship. Earl loved Barbara more than anything and would do anything for her. Barbara loved Earl in the same way and together they made a great team. She was an inspiration to the world during Earls battle with cancer and she is a pillar of strength to our family. The family is truly blessed to have her in our life and to us all she is forever our Mom, Grandma and great Grandma. Why do I tell this story? It is a great example of the how special a man Earl Deese was. And how God knew what he was doing that day when Earl came into this world. Without Earl, a lot of people would not exist and this world would be a lesser place. Earl's life is most interesting and a book could be written about all the many things he has done and it would be a best seller. This only scratches the surface of who Earl is but those who know Earl know that his story is unique and one that will be told over and over again in the years to come. Earl came into this world fighting for his life and he left this world the same way. He was a fighter for all that life had to offer and he will be missed. We take great comfort in knowing he has gone to be with the Lord and the family and friends before him. They are celebrating in Heaven that Earl has arrived. Earl is survived by his wife Barbara Deese, son Kenneth Deese, Daughters in law Joyce Deese and Laurie Deese, Granddaughters Bethany Tyler, Maegan Case, and Brittany Deese, Grandson Kaelan Deese, Great Grandchildren Grayson Tyler, Jude Tyler, Jet Tyler, and Lacey Case.
