Eddina Mae “Dee” Martin passed away unexpectedly at her home Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was born January 26, 1950, in Amarillo, Texas, where she grew up and graduated from Palo Duro High School. Dee was a hard worker and spent over 35 years serving as a waitress, lastly at Petro Truck Stop in Oklahoma City. She continued to work until she retired and returned to Amarillo to care for her ailing parents, Bob and Mae Burk.
Dee enjoyed crocheting and loved dancing. She was an avid dog lover and always had a dog as part of her family. She loved her family, especially her grandkids. She attended Quail Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Pat Cope, Lynn Pool, and Bobby Burk; and her longtime friend, Susan Mominee. She is survived by her son, Dwayne Bevers, his wife, Anne, and their children, Jillian and Tyler; Hal, whom she raised from birth; one brother, Howard Burk and his wife Norma; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, at Quail Springs Baptist Church at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Bella Foundation.
