Edith "Kathryn" Kraker was born on February 12, 1925 in Kiefer, OK to Monsour and Saleema Kraker. She passed away on January 20, 2012 at Bellevue Nursing Home in OKC. Her family moved to Henryetta, OK in 1927 and later the family moved to OKC in 1936. Kathryn attended Heronville Elementary School and Capitol Hill Junior High School and graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1944. She played the clarinet in the band all through junior high and high school. She went to the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a B.S. Degree in liberal Arts. After graduation, Kathryn joined her brother George who owned Krakers Men's and Women's Apparel. A few years later her sister Dorothy joined them in the business. After George's death in 1961 Kathryn and Dorothy ran the business as co-owners until their retirement in 1976. Together they enjoyed traveling and watching OU football. Kathryn was a devoted and caring person to both her family and her church St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church. She was a member of the Alpha Mayla Chi Sorority, church choir and the Ladies Aid Organization. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her sister Dorothy, Nephews Mark Tayar and wife Stacey, Joe Tayar and wife Gaylene, and niece Linda Kraker; great nephew Ferris Tayar, and great nieces Kim Kremer, Danielle Robertson, Carley Tayar, and Pebbles Nugent. The Closing of the Casket will be 10:00 a.m. Monday January 23, 2012 at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church with the Funeral service to immediately follow. The family would like memorial contributions made to The Flowers That Do Not Whither Fund at St. Elijah
