Maxine Hightower, 89, of Oklahoma City passed away on July 7, 2014. She was born in Pauls Valley, OK, on December 6, 1924 to the late John and Ida Mae (Smith) Foley. One of 10 children, she is survived by two sisters, Faye Mooney of Graham Texas and Betty Barnes of Oklahoma City. Maxine graduated from Ninnekah High School and attended Central State University. In 1946, she married the late Harold Brousseau and subsequently married the late Glenn Hightower. Maxine retired after 37 years as a beloved and loyal employee of the Oklahoma Tax Commission in the Personnel Department/Deferred Compensation. Maxine is survived by her four children; Fonda Brousseau, of Edmond, OK; Greg Brousseau (Reba) of Denver, CO; Carol Brousseau, of Okla. City, OK; Janet Pierce (Tom), of Westwood Hills, KS. She is also survived by grandchildren; Michael Rogers; Cindy Fowle (Dale); Jane Brousseau, and David Brousseau; great-grandchildren Johnathan Rogers, and Makayla Fowle and many lovely nieces and nephews. Visitation will start at 9 a.m. Thursday at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home (NW 23rd) with the Divine Mercy/Rosary at 6:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral (3214 Lake Avenue, OKC) at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, with the burial immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be sent to Our Lady's Cathedral.
