Edward "Eddie" Turner Troup

Edward "Eddie" Turner Troup, gourmet cook, vegetable gardener, consummate outdoorsman, University of Oklahoma alum and keen Sooner fan, Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity man, horse race enthusiast, loyal friend and husband, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013. He had a life-long love affair with his Hasty-Bake smoked turkeys, Cornish hens and standing rib roasts, which he served at decades of family gatherings to enthusiastic reviews. He excelled at growing his cherry tomatoes and heirloom potatoes but sometimes lost interest in removing the garden weeds surrounding them. His Super Bowl parties were rivaled by none. One call to Jack's Fish Spot in Seattle and the green-lipped mussels and crab claws arrived at the front door the next day. Married to the love of his life, Pam Faubion Troup, for 33 years, they enjoyed their travels, friends and time with family at the lake. He is survived by his wife Pam; favorite pups, Tina and Annie; father Rudolph W. Troup (fiancée Yvonne); brothers Rudolph W. Troup, Jr. ( Carolyn) and Terry Troup; and sister Annette Troup Overlease (Jerry). He is also survived by nephews Matt, Dan, Will, Turner and Matt; nieces Kim, Stacy, Laurie, Megan, and Taylor; mother-in-law, Olvna; and sister-in-law Debi, and brother-in-law Bob. His mother Helen L. Troup predeceased him. He also left behind too many friends to count. Eddie was born in Holdenville on August 5, 1947. An independent landman, he died after a short but courageous battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
