Dr. Edward Joseph Marron Jr., 73, passed away March 13, 2010, at his home in Oklahoma City. He was born June 5, 1936, in Windber, Penn., the son of Edward Joseph Marron and Mary Pauline Smutko Marron. He served as a medic in the US Navy. He graduated from Ohio State University as well as from Ohio College of Podiatry Medicine where he served as class president his graduating year. Dr. Marron came to Oklahoma City in 1965 to begin his medical career and retired from his practice in March 2009. He became a very successful and highly respected member of the medical community in Oklahoma. Ed served as the president of the Oklahoma Podiatry Association. He led a very active life in sports and was an avid golfer. Dr. Marron is one of the few men in the world to climb to the base camp of Mount Everest twice. He served as president of Quail Creek Golf and Country Club. He was also a gourmet chef and loved to cook fabulous meals. He was a dear friend and beloved by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Mark Edward Marron. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Sue Marron; stepdaughters, Christine Boyd and Keri Tarrant and their families; three sisters, Suzy Briggs, Kathy Traczyk Marron and Sally Bowdish; brother-in-law, Will Bowdish; and numerous nieces and nephews.
