Eileen Thistleton, a wife, mother and lifelong teacher died on May 24th of lung cancer. She was 74. Eileen was born to William Daniel and Catherine McNeill on October 11th, 1936 in New Hyde Park, New York. She was a proud Irish Catholic who had a gift of the gab. Eileen enjoyed the Oklahoma Arts, especially the Lyric Theater and loved to start each day solving crossword puzzles. Her legacy will live on through her family, friends and the many children who were given the opportunity to reach for the moon through her teaching. Eileen is survived by her husband of 46 years, John Jr.; bothers Alexander McNeill and Daniel McNeill; her son, John III; her son Peter and wife Camie and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons who died at childbirth. A viewing will be held at Smith and Kernke, 1401 NW 23 St. from 9:00am through 1:00pm on Monday, May 30. An evening wake service will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, May 30, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
