Elaine Hill

Elaine Hill, 92, was born April 25, 1926 in Lebanon, OK to Earl & Nancy Scribner. She passed away on December 20, 2018 surrounded by her four children. Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Hill, her parents, her sister, Erlene, infant brother, Billy Wayne and great-granddaughter Emma Grace Cornelius. Our Mom (our Queen) would share memories of her youth growing up in southern Oklahoma where her family grew cotton and ran a grocery store. After high school her aspirations brought her to OKC where she met the love of her life while working at Sears, Joe Hill. After dating for 3 months, they married and shared a life together for 58 year leaving a legacy of love, respect and loyalty that they instilled in their family: Children: Dana (Mike) McCarty, William "Bill" Hill, Pam Lewis and Carol Hill; Grandchildren: Graham (Ashley) McCarty, Meagan (Dennis) Cornelius, Chelsea (Brook) Hill-Johnson, Jeremy Hill and Alan Lewis: Great Grandchildren: River Johnson, Coral Johnson, Ava Cornelius, Kate Elaine Cornelius and Baby King McCarty who is on his way in March. Mom enjoyed growing beautiful flowers in her garden, bird watching and spending time with her family showering us with love. She was a very sweet and thoughtful person to all that were blessed to have known her. The family would like to give a special thank you to Roseanna Owens and Jenny Chasenah for their love and compassion. Also, a big thank you to our long-time family friend, Cheryl Hicks, who is always there for us. Funeral will be at 1:30pm on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Smith & Kernke 23rd Street Chapel with burial to follow at Chapel Hill.
