Eleanor Anne "Ellie" Raney

Eleanor Anne "Ellie" Raney, 79, died peacefully in her home on February 12, 2014. She was born on March 9, 1934 in Shawnee, O K to Ed and Alma (Cox) Wood. She was a long time member of May Ave. United Methodist Church. Ellie started her working career as a young mother for American Mortgage and Investment Company. She had a long and distinguished career as a branch manager for American Mortgage and retired after over 25 years of service. Family came first to Ellie she was a terrific mother to her children and a wonderful grand and great grandmother. Ellie joins her parents; the love of her life Larry Don Raney; and her daughter Carolyn Helm in Glory. She is survived by her son Michael Raney and wife Lynn; son-in-law Randy Helm; sister-in-law Verna Walling Humphrey; grandchildren Kate Helm, Lacey Helm-English and husband Chris, and Jason Raney; and two very special great grandchildren Aubree English and Jacob Raney. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. She realized to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
