Eleanor Coleman Semtner, age 90, died Nov. 29, 2011. She was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Clinton, Okla., to Lester E. Coleman and Katherine Madigan Coleman. She moved to Oklahoma City at age 13 and graduated from John Carroll High School and then attended Oklahoma City University. She moved to Dallas during World War II and worked as a payroll clerk for a military airplane manufacturer. She later returned to Oklahoma City and worked as a teller for City National Bank. In 1947, she married Bernard L. (Bernie) Semtner, Jr., on June 30, 1947. Eleanor and Bernie were founding members of Christ the King Catholic Church and Eleanor was recently honored at the 62nd anniversary of the Church. She loved playing cards, baking cakes, making fudge, volunteering at Christ the King Church and Mercy Hospital, and spending time with her family. Last September, family and friends joined her to celebrate her 90th birthday. She was preceded in death by Bernie, her parents, her sisters Frances and Emma Catherine, and her brothers Bob and Les. Survivors include her children and their spouses: Julie Cline, Lexington, VA; Betty and Larry Edwards; Barney and Gayle Semtner; and Mary Ellen and Steve Hargis, all of Oklahoma City. Grandchildren include Ben and Elizabeth Cline, Susan and Mark Cline Lucey, Jennifer and Daniel Vaughn, John and Elizabeth Semtner, Andrew Hargis, Jeffrey Semtner, and Katie Hargis. Great-grandchildren include Emmett and Zinn Cline Lucey, Madeline and James Vaughn, and the Cline twin babies who are on the way. She will be deeply missed by her family, nieces and nephews, bridge club friends, and those who knew and loved her. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at Smith & Kernke, 1401 N.W. 23rd Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Dr., with burial at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
