Elizabeth Ann ("Libby") Steakley, 65, peacefully passed away at home on January 5th, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Dorothy ("Dot") Neaureax Sadler and Frank Kenneth Sadler on September 7th, 1948, Libby spent her youth in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1969. She met the love of her life, Steven R. Steakley, in 1969 and they married on June 12th, 1970. They lived in Oklahoma City for the entire 43 years of their marriage. Libby loved her time at the University of Oklahoma, which included the experience with her sorority, Delta Delta Delta. She worked at Steakley & Gilbert, an Oklahoma City CPA firm, for 18 years and also spent many hours serving Oklahoma City with various charitable and civic endeavors. Her hobbies included reading, needle pointing, traveling and baking delicious deserts. But, most of all, she enjoyed caring for her family and friends. She was, in every sense of the word, a servant to her family and friends and took great pride in it. She was a devout Catholic and deserves many accolades for her unfailing love to all. She was a wonderful and nurturing wife, mother and grandmother. Her caring attitude and unconditional love was such a blessing to them. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Steve; her two daughters, Sarah Pruellage, and her husband William of New York City, and Lauren Brollier, and her husband Tucker of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Elizabeth Ann, Emma Clair and William Ford Pruellage of New York City, and John Kenneth Brollier of Oklahoma City; sister Susan Sadler of Tulsa, Oklahoma and numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 16th at 1:00 p.m. at Christ the King church in Oklahoma City with Father Rick Stansberry officiating. A private family interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, 1501 N. Classen Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73106.
