Betty F. Boyd passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born August 24, 1926, in Pittsfield, IL, the daughter of William Fiedler and Wilhelmina Heinz Fiedler. She grew up in Illinois and attended the University of Illinois where she majored in Home Economics. She married A. Keith Boyd of Irving, KS, on October 7, 1950 whom she met in St. Louis, MO. They made homes in Wichita, KS, and Joplin, MO, prior to moving to Tulsa in 1974. Betty cared for her family as a homemaker and she enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing. She also worked at various gift shops and at Dillard's. For many years, Betty loved being a very active volunteer at the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary in Tulsa. She was a very competitive Bridge Player. She had been a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa since 1974. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, one brother, one stepsister, and two stepbrothers. She is survived by three children, Thomas William Boyd and wife Mary of Bozeman, MT, William Spencer Boyd and wife Lori of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jane Elizabeth Boyd of Edmond, OK; two grandchildren Taylor and Kyle; stepsister, Mildred Kernes of Illinois; and two nieces, Patricia Patton, her husband Joel and family, and Pamela Fiedler both of Southern California.
