Faithful daughter of God, Eloise J. Gamino, was called to Paradise early on January 18, 2024 following a difficult illness.
Since her birth on December 12, 1947 to Lloyd and Marie Carmack in the Britton area of Oklahoma City, Eloise was a loving and unique person. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1966 and Central State University in 1970.
Eloise in turn was a loving wife, mother, gramma, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, confidante, junior high teacher, and Delta Zeta sorority sister.
In 1970, she married a near-sighted, wanna-be Oklahoma University law student. That began a 53-year shared life of adventure, travel, and surprise. Eloise was always practical, and plain spoken with an unshakeable inner strength and positive joy.
As an only child, she often recalled her first introduction to the Gamino family. As Eloise sat in the Gamino family dining room to meet the parents, she was unexpectedly surrounded by 7 curious younger siblings who all ran downstairs to see "Danny's girl!"
Eloise never claimed to be an athlete. She professed no interest in "sports junk." But when any of her four children competed in athletics Eloise attended and cheered every ballgame, track meet, wrestling match, cross country meet, school play, and music program.
As an undergrad English major, Eloise mastered Shakespeare, Chaucer, and the classics. She loved (and purchased) books all her life. She relished contemporary fiction by James Michener, James Patterson, Michael Connelley, and Danielle Steel. She was always active as a volunteer at Christ the King Church.
Eloise is survived by her grateful husband Daniel J., and children Christa Larson, David Larson, Bradley Joseph and wife Carrie, Micah Daniel, Eric Anthony, and the spirit of our April boy lost in a difficult miscarriage. She doted on grandchildren Jacob and Kaeley Larson, Mariel Kennedy and Corah Rose Annalie Gamino, Isabel Eloise and Noa Grace Gamino, and Katherine Grace Knittle.
Eloise's family is indebted to Traditions Hospice including Jessie, RN and Shannon, RN and to the Heaven House St. Clair staff under Diane Cooper, including Margaret, Rosanna, and Muriel.
