He was born in Manassas, VA, on September 6, 1982 to Eric Shaw and Amy Serna. He was a dedicated member of the A.A.U., U.S. Grant and Putnam City West basketball teams. His 6' 5" frame and easy athleticism made him a dominating player. In 2001, he graduated from Putnam City West and then went on to graduate from the Platt College Culinary Arts Program in 2004.
He was a truly gifted chef, routinely showing off his skills in the kitchen, always crediting his mother Amy for his culinary gifts and bragging about his Mexican heritage. He was a member of the highly awarded Wolf Pack BBQ team of Enid, Oklahoma. If you ever asked, Eric would confidently tell you that he "cooked better than your grandmother."
Eric loved the Thunder, the Sooners, golf, the lake, family, friends, movies, Randy Watson, Sexual Chocolate, quoting the movie Life and so many other things. Eric hated hot beer and mean people. He was an entertainer and a professional mixologist who never missed an opportunity to laugh his huge laugh, smile his big smile and give giant hugs that let you know beyond a doubt Eric Shaw loved you and had your back.
