Esther Theresa Buettner Hall was born on the family farm in Kingfisher County near Okarche, OK, to Leo and Lena (Vogt) Buettner on July 8, 1927, the second of five children. She attended and graduated from Holy Trinity School in Okarche before graduating from St. Mary's College in Leavenworth, KS, with a degree in chemistry. After graduation, she taught at a nursing school in Joplin, MO, before moving to Oklahoma City where she worked as a physician's assistant. After arriving in Oklahoma City, she met Tom Hall through a Catholic group known as Coronado Club. They married in 1953. From this union they had three children: Tom, Jr., Theresa and Elizabeth. She worked many years as a pre-school instructor for the City of Oklahoma City. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, where she served as a volunteer and member of the parish finance committee for many years. She died following a battle with cancer August 20 in Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers Emil and Paul Buettner. She was also preceded by brother-in law John Knight, sister-in law Winona Buettner and nephew Karl Buettner. She is survived by: son Tom Hall, Jr. and spouse Patti of Luther, OK,; daughter Theresa Hall of New York City; daughter Elizabeth Nunley and spouse Steve of Morton, IL; sisters Rita Knight of The Village, OK, Kathy Moffitt of Bethany, OK; sister in law Lorene Buettner of Edmond, OK; grandchildren Misti Duncan, Melanie Briley and spouse Jeff, Thomas Hall III and spouse Tara, Rebecca East and spouse Billie, Ellen Nunley and Dale Nunley; great-grandchildren Bailey, Brandon, Ian, Ethan, Lydia, Vadim, Thomas IV, Catherine, William, Izzabella, Gabriella and Tristen; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family thanks the dedicated physicians, professionals and staff of Mercy Cancer Center and Hospital, Baptist Village, AMG Specialty Hospital and Senior Helpers for their assistance during the last few months. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Center of Family Love, PO Box 245, Okarche, OK 73762. Visitation will be Wednesday August 23, 2017 at Smith & Kernke N May Ave. from 10 to 8 pm with the family being present from 3 to 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will occur at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Okarche at 11:00 am, with graveside services at Resurrection Cemetery, Oklahoma City at 3:00 pm on August 24.
