Eugene Hunyadi

Eugene Hunyadi was born on June 3, 1933 in Sharon, PA to Mary and Raymond Hunyadi and was a 1951 graduate of Sharon High School. Right out of high school, Gene went to work for Westinghouse. In 1953, Gene joined the US Coast Guard and proudly served his country until 1957. Gene and his first wife welcomed son, Eugene “Butch” Hunyadi, into their lives in 1960. Over the years, Gene earned five degrees, electronics engineering, business, and Master of Business, as well as degrees in labor and community relations. Gene was employed with the FAA from 1960 until his retirement in 1995. On July 2, 1974, Gene married Shirley and welcomed a stepson, Warren Dekinder. Gene was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Shirley. Gene is survived by his son Eugene “Butch” Hunyadi and wife Monica and their daughters, Brittany Miller and Kelsey Hunyadi; stepson, Warren Dekinder and wife Angie and their children, Cole Dekinder and Alexandra Her. Gene passed away on September 17, 2024, and was celebrated with a private family service in South Carolina.
