Eugenia "Genie" was born August 15, 1925 in Bryan, Texas to Ella L. and Eugene A. Miller. Genie attended Bryan public schools, graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1942. After graduation she attended Texas State College for Women. She graduated in 1946 with a BS and BA degrees in Music Education. She accepted a position in Roswell, New Mexico teaching music in the public schools. While living there she met Hubert Hunt. They became engaged and were married in the First Methodist Church of Roswell on February 22, 1950. In 1951 they moved to Ann Arbor Michigan where Hubert attended the University of Michigan, earning a Masters degree in Geology. Eugenia taught music in the schools of Ypsilanti and Wayne, Michigan. In 1961 they moved to Oklahoma City where they lived until recently, having moved to Norman in 2010. Genie taught private piano for thirty plus years in Oklahoma City. She was a member of Crown Heights Christian Church in Oklahoma City, where she was a member of the Chancel Choir. She also belonged to the Homemakers Sunday School class, and the Christian Women's Fellowship also Genie served as a Deaconess. Genie was preceded in death by husband Hubert, son Steven Miller Hunt, and her brother, Thomas E. Miller. Genie is survived by two sons Paul Erwin Hunt and his wife Cindy, and John Arthur Hunt and his wife Jennifer, all of Houston as well as one daughter, Ann Marie Hunt of Norman, Oklahoma and six grand children; Brian and Holly Hunt, Leah and Meg Hunt, Ashley Gaches and Alex Vile, and Alice and Lenny Vile, also one sister, Helen, of Beaumont, Texas. Visitation will be from 3-6pm with family present from 4-5pm on Thursday March 13th at Smith Kernke. Funeral will be at 1:30pm on Friday, March 14th at Crown Heights Christian Church, 4020 N. Western Avenue OKC.
