Everett William Strange, Jr.

Everett William Strange, Jr. (Bill) was born on March 19, 1931 in Birmingham, Alabama to Alice Stockmar Strange and Everett William Strange, Sr. He passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Bill graduated from Phillips High School in 1948 and Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) in 1951. In sixth grade, he met Ruth Stone, the love of his life and wife of the past 65 years. Bill worked for the AT&T network of companies, including Western Electric and Teletype Corporation, for 35 years ending his employment as Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering for Teletype. Over 35 years, Bill and Ruth moved 8 times and lived in 7 different cities before moving to Oklahoma City to be near family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Alice Strange Davis. Survivors include his wife, Ruth, children Tim Strange & Marylee, Kathleen Strange Bass, Melanie Strange Brown & Charles. He is also survived by grandchildren Juliann Strange Test & Jack, Katylee Strange Moehlenbrock & Scott, great-grandson Trigg Test, niece Jane Mahon & Patrick, and nephew James E. Davis, Jr. & Pat. Donations may be made to NewView Oklahoma or Crossings Community Church. Visitation will be Mon. May 28th from 12 - 6 pm at Smith & Kernke Funeral home at 14624 N. May. Family will be present 4 - 6 pm. Bill's Funeral Service will be at the Chapel at Crossings Community Church on Tues. May 29, at 2 pm, followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery and a reception at the home of Melanie and Charles.
