Fleur Lane Fisher

Fleur Lane Fisher died November 24, 2012 at age 86 at her home following a long illness with Alzheimer disease. She was born February 7, 1926 to Cecil Goodwin & Iris Shoppe Lane in Ardmore, OK. Raised in Oklahoma City, she was a graduate from Classen High School in 1944, then attended the Universities of Iowa & Oklahoma, graduating in 1948. She taught at Capitol Hill High School. She was married on August 6, 1949 to John Irving Fisher, and they were blessed sharing 63 love filled years together. Their daughter, Jane Ann Fisher came into their lives in April 1956, & their son, Ross Lane Fisher, arrived in October 1959. She lived most of her life in Oklahoma City, but spent several years with her husband living in Louisiana and Midland, Texas. Fleur contributed her many talents in the service of God, as president of the Episcopal Church Women's organization, member of the All Soul's vestry, delegate to several Diocesan conventions, and as Vice Chairman for the International United Thank Offering charitable organization of the Episcopal Church. She was privileged to significantly help in the initial formation of the Canterbury senior living center here in Oklahoma City in the early 1980's. She touched and enriched the lives of so many family and friends throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Goodwin & Iris Lane, and her daughter, Jane Fisher. She is survived by her devoted husband John Fisher of the home, brother Lloyd Lane of Estes Park, CO, son Ross Fisher, MD and daughter-in-law Melody Fisher of Blanchard, granddaughters Mandy Keef of Yukon & Chelsea Keef of Blanchard & great grandchildren, Harper & Charley Keef. The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to Fleur's devoted caregivers over these last several years, Robin Gregory & Anisa Miller, as well as the staff at Physician's Choice Hospice.
