Florentine A. Nowacki

Our beloved mother, Florentine Nowacki, passed peacefully on November 26, 2016 at the age of 101. She was born to Hattie and Bronislaw Wonsiewicz on December 28, 1914 in Salamanca, New York. After graduating from business college and working as a legal secretary, she met and married a young Lt. Walter Nowacki. As an army wife she created a home from coast to coast (and to the shores of Italy for three years). Even after retirement in Oklahoma City, she continued her service to Sacred Heart Parish and the elderly in her community. She was a gifted hostess and caregiver. She is survived by sisters Rita Wiggins, West Chester PA, and Hattie Dulanski, Depew NY; daughters Barbara Ann and Susan Carney (Ken), Oklahoma City; son Walter Nowacki (Ginger), Houston, TX; grandchildren Mark, Lauren, Christopher and Rachel; great-grandchildren Shilo, Shiann, Conor, Colin, Minke, J.C. and Ayden. She is predeceased by husband Walter Nowacki and grandson Bertrand. Her strong presence of faith and family will remain with all of us forever. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday, Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 7801 NW Expressway, with viewing 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 North May Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Mount St. Mary High School, both of Oklahoma City.
