Frances Geraldine Willett

Frances Geraldine Willett passed away at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City on April 6, 2015. The daughter of R. C. and Veronica O'Meara Willett, Geraldine was a graduate of Oklahoma City Central High School and Draughon's Business College. She joined the clerical staff at Tinker Field during World War II, and afterward became a legal secretary. She later joined Lee Way Motor Freight, Inc., and served as executive secretary to one of Lee Way's top executives. Geraldine was a career woman in the finest sense of the word, and this talent was reflected in her lively interest in people and a variety of subjects. She enjoyed traveling around the U.S. and especially to Ireland. In recent years she often mentioned her appreciation of the help, consideration and love extended to her by her many friends. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one brother, Charles Kenneth Willett, (Peggy), of Virginia Beach, VA; her nephew, David Charles Willett (Jackie), of Severn, MD; grand-nephew Charles Willett; grand-niece Kristen Hansen (Scott), and great-grand-niece Isabelle Hansen. An Evening Prayer Service will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 13th at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home (1401 NW 23rd, OKC). A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (1901 NW 18th, OKC) with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
