Frances L. Barnhart

Died peacefully April 29, 2015 at home surrounded by family. Franny was born October 22, 1923 to Claude and Anna Sledd in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she spent her early life along with brother, Claude, Jr. She attended Sullins Girls School in Bristol, Virginia, then on to the University of Oklahoma where she met Lyall Barnhart, Jr. They were married in 1942 and settled in Oklahoma City following the war. Franny was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lyall Barnhart, Jr. She leaves behind four children- Susan Barnhart Wade, Terry Sinclair (Jack), Chris Barnhart LeBoeuf, & Bill Barnhart (Terri), along with 10 grandchildren- David & Jeff Wade, Coree Stevenson, Barney Sinclair & Sally Hodgson, Patrick LeBoeuf, Sissy LeBoeuf & Lindsay Daniel, Jake & Cole Barnhart, and 15 great grandchildren with a 16th on the way. Frances was a longtime member of All Soul's Episcopal Church and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was an avid gardener and loved to swim and cook. The family wishes to thank her caregivers- Espie Fields, Anabel Buerdia and Rose Glazier, as well as Mercy Hospice for their compassionate care during our Mother's final days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Stephen Ministry at All Soul's Episcopal Church or a charity of one's choice. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 4 at 12:00 noon at Rose Hill Burial Park.
