Frances Lee McCoy Zellweger Clark Greene was born August 13, 1929, in Enid, OK to Edythe and Carl Lee McCoy, Sr. When Fran was 5, her mother died and she was adopted by her maternal grandparents, Jesse and Mamie Zellweger. Fran graduated from Enid High School and attended Phillips University. She received her Associates degree from Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, KS. Fran worked for Social Rehab Services in Hutchinson until her retirement in 1996.
Fran was married to Eugene S. Clark on June 18, 1949. They were blessed with four children. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. The couple divorced and Fran moved with her youngest daughter, Mary, to Hutchinson, KS, in 1973, to be near her McCoy relatives. Fran married Larry W. Greene. She was a member of Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church. Several years after Larry's death, Fran moved back to Oklahoma City to be near her children. She moved into Copper Lake Estates where she made several friends who brought her joy.
Fran died Monday, September 1st at her home at Copper Lake surrounded in love by her family and friends. Fran was pre-deceased by her parents and her daughter, Edith Bradshaw and her husband Don; and her brother, Carl Lee McCoy, Jr. She is survived by her son, Stan Clark, and his wife, Cheryl; her daughters, Mary Shawgo, and her husband, Steve, and Melinda Foster, and her husband, Toney; her Norwegian foreign exchange daughter, Ingvild Johanneson, her grandchildren – John Foster and his wife, Suzanne; Carrie Kish and her husband, Chris; Katie Green and her husband, R.D.; Blake Clark and Jared Shawgo; great grandchildren – Shanda, Taylor and Megan Kish and Jacob and Kyle Foster; and sister – Donna Young. Fran will be missed by all of her wonderful friends at Copper Lake Estates and the Hutchinson, Kansas area and her dear friends of 73 plus years Garda Dean Bartlett and Joyce Yowell.
