F. Kelly Dougherty passed away surrounded by his family on April 12, S2014. He was born on the family farm in Hinton as one of the 11 children of Ray and Grace (Etier) Dougherty. He graduated from Hinton High School and went on to Southwestern College in Weatherford to earn a degree in Pharmacy. While he was in college, he met the love of his life, Mary Odell, who he married after graduation. Early in his career he worked as a pharmacist in Elk City and Lubbock, Texas. In 1966 he accepted a position as the Director of Pharmacy at St. Anthony Hospital where he received many recognitions and awards prior to his retirement in 1990. Together, they raised 6 boys who were the joys of their lives. Following retirement, they moved back to Hinton to "work" back on the farm and enjoy entertaining their children, grandchildren and many friends. In 2003, they moved back to Oklahoma City and resided at St. Ann's Retirement Center where they could attend daily mass and enjoy many new friends. Kelly is survived by his wife Mary of 68 years, and their 6 sons and families, Kelly Jr. (Bonnie) Plano, TX; Kevin (Darla) Carrollton, TX; Brian (Marileigh) OKC; Shawn (Beth), Steubenville, OH; Tim (Carol) Carrollton, TX.; Brett (Mary), Yukon. From their children they have also been blessed with 25 grandchildren and 13 great grand children. Dad always said that the best way to lead was by example and never wavered in his Catholic faith, his commitment to his family and family values, and his strong and honest work ethic. How appropriate, that he would pass away on his father's birthday and the beginning of the Easter week. He will be missed and remembered by us all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Catholic Charities or a charity of your choice. The family would especially like to thank all their friends at St. Ann's and the exceptional team of caregivers at Concordia memory care and Mercy Hospice over the last several months. There will be a visitation and Rosary service at St. Ann's Retirement Center Chapel, Monday, April 14th at 6:00. A funeral Mass at St. Ann's Chapel will follow on Tuesday at 10:00. Following Mass Kelly will be buried with his parents and many other family members at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Hinton.
