Frank Henry Kopp, 90, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 31. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 14, 1921 to Frank and Hattie Kopp. Frank was a graduate of Manhattan College of Engineering and earned his Masters in Accounting from New York University. He proudly worked for Western Electric for 40 years. Frank served as a member of the Deaconess Hospital Board from 1967-1983 with several terms as president. He received the Distinguished Service Award for his years of dedication. He also served on the Oklahoma City Symphony Board. Frank and Alveria were foster parents to over 20 children. In 1997, Frank and Alveria received the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice; an award given to laypeople for distinguished service. It is the highest medal awarded to the laity by the Pope. His greatest accomplishment after retirement was establishing and fostering the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church. Frank was an accomplished pianist, classical music and opera buff, and an avid tennis and golf enthusiast. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Hattie Kopp of Brooklyn, NY, his two brothers Robert of Cherry Hill, PA, and Charles of Knoxville, TN. He is survived by his wife Alveria; three sons: Greg and wife JoAnn of Edmond, OK, Stephen of Silver Springs, MD, and Robert and wife Cindy of Midwest City, OK. Frank has 5 grandchildren: Jeff, Chris, Tracy Fugitt, Allison and Brian. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Vincent de Paul at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 7336 W. Britton Rd., Oklahoma City, OK 73132. Wake Service will be held Friday, January 6 at 7:00 pm at Smith-Kernke Funeral Home, 14621 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK. Mass will be at Epiphany of the Lord on Saturday, January 7, 10:00 am.
