Fred Charles Hohne, Jr.

Fred C. Hohne, Jr., 90, of Largo, Florida passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Fred was born on April 7, 1922 in Olpe, Kansas to the late Fred & Elizabeth (Voeste) Hohne. Fred moved to this area 12 years ago coming from Mesa, AZ. He retired as a Mining Geologist. Fred was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the AIME and many other organizations and activities over the years. He is survived by his loving wife Mildred (Ellis) Hohne of Largo, FL, three daughters Kris (Dr. William) Richards of Belleair, FL, Judy (Phillip) Askew of Dallas, TX and Barbara (Jay) Brown of Shawnee, OK along with eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Robert (Mary) Hohne of Three Rivers, CA and three sisters Marie (Joe) Markowitz of Olpe, KS, Dorothea (Harold) Haley and Virginia (George) Pester both of Emporia, KS. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be offered to the Haitian Health Foundation, 97 Sherman Street, Norwich, CT 06360 or to the South Bend Center for the Homeless, 813 South Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46601. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 4:30-5:30 with a Rosary beginning at 5:30 at Smith & Kernke Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 10:30 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
