Freddie Joatrice Day passed away peacefully on March 24, 2011, surrounded by her son Edwin and several friends. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on October 20, 1929. Freddie was a quiet lady who was very talented in cooking and making quilts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Day; parents, Fredrick and Beatrice York; sisters, Patricia Holt and Guthrie John; and her brother, Frederick York, Jr. Freddie is survived by her son, Edwin P. Day of Oklahoma City; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Laurine Day; grandson, Matthew Day of Irving, Texas; sisters, Rachel Osborn of Compton, California, Nancy Henderson of Los Angeles, California, and Mary Nolan of Jacksonville, Florida; her step-daughter and husband, Joann and Gene Henton of Blytheville, Arkansas; and her step-grandson, Kevin Henton of Dallas, Texas, as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
