Fredrick (Fred) Oliver Plater was born in Oklahoma City on April 1, 1949 and died peacefully at home on January 2, 2016. Fred was the son of D Frank Plater and Eleanor Kautz Plater, both deceased. He graduated from O.C.U. with a B.S. in Accounting and from the University of Oklahoma with a J.D. Fred was a sole practitioner of tax law. He was a proud Grandpa and loving Dad, who enjoyed coaching his children's soccer teams. He shared a love of the water with his family and spent many weekends at Lake Tenkiller where he was captain of his boat "The Newman." He was an avid football fan and card player. As a very sociable person, Fred made many enduring friendships. With a twinkle in his eye, Fred often expressed his dry wit and sharp intellect. He is survived by his son Matthew; daughter Rachael and husband Adam Metzler and his grandchildren Madelyn and James; brother D Frank Jr. and wife Kathy; brother Steve and wife Pam; sister Paula; nieces Sarah, Lindsey, Shanda and husband Matt; great-niece Aria and great-nephew Harbor; Aunt Verna and the Ackerman family. Services are scheduled for Saturday, January 9 at 11:00am at Smith & Kernke, 14624 N. May.
