Geneva Joyce Graves of Bethany, Oklahoma, departed this life on August 12, 2021, at the age of 87. She was born in Lamesa, TX, on May 11, 1934, to Elbert and Ethel (Tuggle) Wall, and was the 7th of 8 children. She graduated from high school in Dora, NM, in 1951. Geneva met Orville Eugene Graves on July 4, 1949, in Portales, NM, and they were married February 24, 1951, in the neighboring town of Clovis. Orville and Geneva had lived in the Bethany area since 1979, coming from Odessa, Texas. They celebrated 39 years of marriage before his passing on July 5th, 1990. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her position as homemaker for her family, all of whom she loved dearly. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and 6 of her 7 siblings ~ Durward Wall, Hulon Wall, Janie Johns, Laverne Wall, El Wanda Allmon, and T.C. Wall. She is survived by her 3 daughters ~ Cheryl Clements and husband Paul Clements of Edmond OK, Debbie Carroll and husband Johnny Carroll of Midlothian TX, and Janis Sopiwnik of Bethany OK; 6 grandchildren ~ Kendra Clements, Clay Clements, Brandon Carroll, Taylor Carroll, Stefanie Franklin, and Sara Franklin; 4 great grandchildren ~ Everett Carroll, Parker Carroll, Ethan Carroll, and Bennett Carroll; 1 brother ~ Garry Wall of Lubbock TX; and a host of nieces and nephews and their children.A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 2 pm for her children and grandchildren at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home with interment in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
