George Philip Ross

George, 88, passed away on Aug. 19, 2011. He was born June 2, 1923 in Dallas TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Ross; brother, James Ross; sister, Mary Jo Haase; brother, William Ross; and twin sister, Florence Campbell. Survivors include his sister, Theresa Nantkes of Omaha NE and numerous nieces, grand nieces, nephews, and grand nephews from CA, NE, NY, OK, and UT. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, surviving 25 missions over Germany in a B-17 Bomber, crash landing in a potato field in Belgium on the final mission. He enjoyed many years of retirement after a career with the FAA. The family would like to express special thanks to his friend Katie McNeil for her help in his later years. Rosary will be said Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 7 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday August 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Both liturgies will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 3901 S.W. 29th, OKC. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
