George W. Brown, Jr. son of George W. Brown, Sr. and Christina Cozart Brown was born August 19, 1929 in Oklahoma City at his maternal grandmother's house. His father worked for Mobil Oil Co. resulting in their living in several different places in West Texas. When George was fourteen, they moved permanently to Oklahoma City where he attended and graduated from Central High School. He received his degree in geology at Oklahoma City University, and shortly after graduation, went to work for Dowell Chemical Co. working in parts of Oklahoma and North Dakota. He served three years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War conflict. After returning from the service he went to work for Superior Oil Co. working many of those years in Maracaibo, Venezuela. Upon his return to Oklahoma City, he went to work for the General Adjustment Bureau and then Ohio Casualty Insurance Company retiring from there in 1995. George was a man of high integrity and character. He had a sweet and gentle manner and went out of his way to do for others. He was ordained a deacon in 1977 at Meridian Avenue Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for many years, and taught fourth and fifth grade boy's class. He was a loving son who always took care of his parents. He was a devoted, wonderful husband to his wife, Juanita, who survives him. He is also survived by his sons, Matthew and his wife Sheryl; Craig and his wife Vicki; Chris and his wife Betty and Cameron and his wife Pam. Grandchildren are Trent; Ashley and husband Kevin; Clayton; Elizabeth and husband Michael; Camille; Matthew and wife Nichole, and Ryan, Also, three great-grandchildren. George is survived by his sister Marillyn Svejkovsky, sisters-in-law Quinnie Coury and Thelma Farha, and many nieces and nephews.
