Gerald Forrest Carlile, Jr. (Forrest) passed away on March 17, 2014, in Oklahoma City, after a brief battle with cancer. Forrest was born August 4, 1961, and lived in Oklahoma City his whole life. He served as a firefighter for 24 years, retiring in 2010 with the rank of Lieutenant. He loved the brotherhood of the OKC Fire Department. Forrest was also an avid runner who competed in over 100 races throughout his life. He participated in numerous marathons and triathlons, but the one nearest to his heart was the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. He completed the Oklahoma Iron Man, the Hotter than Hell Hundred, and numerous others. He ran 40 miles on his 40th birthday and 50 miles on his 50th birthday.
He was a proud father of his three children, and he volunteered and directed many of their school events and races, and helped coach his sons' soccer and football games.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Forrest Carlile Sr. (Jerry), and his grandparents, G.F. (Jerry) and Mildred Carlile. He is survived by his three children, Haley, Logan and Hunter, of Pueblo, Colorado. He is also survived by his sister, Christy Tharp and husband Robert of Oklahoma City, and his brother, Jerry Carlile and wife Lisa of Oklahoma City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
