Gerald "Dusky" Manley

Gerald “Dusky” Manley left this world to be with his Savior on May 30, 2024, at age 79, surrounded by his loving family. He was a man of immense humor and wisdom who never met a stranger and was admired by all. He was raised on a farm in Billings, Oklahoma by his parents Elmo and Mary Manley (preceded in death). He had been married to his beloved wife, Glenda, for 54 years. Dusky had 3 siblings Regona (husband Jack), Gary (preceded in death) and Kim (husband Kenny). Brother-in-law Larry Schaapveld (wife Kaye), sister-in-law Donna Williams (husband Bobby) and numerous nieces and nephews. His children Scott (preceded in death), Sandi (husband Jeff), Shelly (husband Jason), and Chad (wife Angie). His grandchildren Brandon, Bryce, Kayli, Kayla, Karlyn, Hunter, Haley, Justin, Colby, Savannah, Abby, and Norah. Great grandchildren Harlan, Grayson, Kamber, Ivy, Margot and Blaike. All grandchildren knew Papa Dusky “lived on hugs!”.

Dusky was employed by DuPont for 33 years and worked his way up to District Manager. Being on a corporate ladder his family lived in 5 states. After retirement Dusky and Glenda returned to Oklahoma to be with family. Dusky made friends everywhere he went and surrounded himself with good people. As well as being known for his humor, Dusky had many talents of welding, building, painting cars and houses and did each job with “Manley Overkill”. Dusky acknowledged people even in the weakest hours of his life. He would want to be remembered as a man who loved his life.

Dusky and Glenda are 21 year members of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church. The greatest things in Dusky’s life were love for others, his family and his Savior.

Viewing will be Friday, June 7,10-5, Smith & Kernke 14624 N May with prayer service at 6:30 to celebrate his life. Services will be held at Epiphany Catholic Church, Saturday 10 am, 7336 W Britton Rd. He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, nearby. We would like to invite you to share a meal after the burial back at Epiphany Church.
