Gertrude Elizabeth Booth passed away 1/20/2011. Born 3/4/1918 in Donnellson, Iowa to Samuel G. and Elizabeth Mae (Rich) Wenger. Earned her RN degree and served as lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp in WWII. Married Ross W. Booth in 1943. Predeceased by parents, husband, Ross, son James Robert and 5 brothers and sisters. Survived by daughter Judy Sousa (Tony), son, Jerry Booth, daughters Jacque Patterson, Joanne Belcher (Vernon) and Jonni Booth. 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brother Donald Wenger (Betty) of Des Moines, Iowa and many nieces and nephews and their families. What defined Mom's life most was her love of and sacrifice for family. Each year she remembered all members of her family's birthdays and anniversaries as well as those of many friends. Mom, we will miss you so much and can only hope we have learned well all that you taught us. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 26 at Smith and Kernke on N.W. 23rd with interment in Topeka, KS. We want to thank Quail Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the VA hospital, especially the Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion.
